Well, I'm back to sitting in a hospital waiting room. This time is an exciting visit though! Last week, Uncle Pat (or granddad) was released from the hospital! He's back to running the farm. Today, I volunteered to drive him to Goodland for his tri-weekly dialysis appointment. We are praying that his kidneys will wake up like the rest of him has. It's been a miraculous recovery, especially when you consider that a month ago, he was fighting to live. Today, he's wondering around on his walker and keeping the rest of us on our toes. I'm beyond thankful and blessed as I sit here waiting for him to finish up for the day.
I offered to drive him here from the farm to give my dear Aunt a much needed break. Since his initial back surgery, Aunt Betty has run herself ragged. Please pray that she will find a way to get some rest!
While I drove him to be nice, there were other reasons involved too. If you know me at all, you know that I love my time on the farm and in western Kansas. I got to run errands to the CO-OP yesterday and today and about lost my mind I was so excited. Wheat harvest is in full swing here and I'm loving the fresh cut fields, rolling combines, and barreling semis taking their latest load to the elevator. Driving Uncle Pat allowed me time to talk "farm" with him and get more time in on the road. I love this place and the family that lives here. There are so many precious memories associated with this place and I'm beyond thankful that I get to continue making them!
Love Y'all!
